Why doesn't Beyoncé have writing credits on R.E.M.?

Recommended Posts

R.E.M. is a version of an old Beyoncé demo, Wake Up. The production and melody are exactly the same, and the lyrics are exactly the same at some points.

Despite this...Beyoncé has no writing credit. Beyoncé has had a writing credit on every one of her songs since the Beyoncé album. Are we supposed to believe that despite writing all the other songs in her discography...she decided not to write this one?

Is this more proof Beyoncé is a fraud who steals writing credits?

Is this album basically just Pharell sampling whatever the fuck he wants thinking he’s Kanye West or some shit?

That Beyonce version was a DEMO.

In the final version of Beyonce songs,

she gets the credit for arranging vocals, background vocals,

and she also changes some lyrics to suit her.

She contributes a LOT to her music.

Did Beyonce wrote the chorus? both her's and Ariana's version share the same one but the verses are different from each other, idk if that's the case but it's just a guess

Maybe there are other reasons for this but since this a this is a demo, artists can have rights to older material if approved

What if this song was made before Self-Titled?

it is, it was suppose to be for an album that got scrapped half-way through the process

Beyonce decided to go for a new direction, that's how self-titled exists

They share the same verses. The verses are just in a different order and some lyrics are changed.

She also "wrote" every song on all of her other albums apart from 2 songs on DIL, 1 song on IAMSF and 1 on 4. And the one on IAMSF, the writer came out and said Beyoncé tried to take credit for it.

Whitney and Celine also arrange vocals and added background vocals, added high notes and even change words to ooh’s and aah’s but they didn’t credit themselves as songwriters.

songwriting is for “WRITING” :wat:
