Do you think album/single sales will rise again?

Recommended Posts

Or are we permanently stuck in this situation of streams fucking up the charts?

People aren't buying albums anymore, even their fave artists. At this point you only need 5k or less pure sales to get a Top 10 album. A pop girl sells 1 million copies of an album and it's considered a successful era.

For example:

And before you come in and say "we're in the streaming era!", the music album market is 1/3 of the size it was in 2000, meaning these stats are STILL piss poor compared to what they once were.

So, will people ever start buying albums again or will people remain here for the quick cheap singles?

I don't think sales will rise ever again :kimcry: not only because of streaming, but also because of piracy. Yes, is illegal in big countries, but in country like mine where we don't even have Spotify/Apple Music piracy is obvious way to get shit you want. And even in USA, you can pay $80 for pro VPN hiders (or whatever they are called) and after that you can download millions of albums, songs... Hell, you can get those VPN apps even for free :um1:

It's gonna get worse unless these streaming services/illegal downloads are stopped:wendy18:

Depends on the artists.

Adele and Taylucifer will stay making big numbers no matter what.

Streaming has definitely killed the industry, it's sad, same with iTunes. Music died the second itunes came because now you can only buy ONE song as opposed to buying the entire album for the one song you like lol
