“For what it’s worth... it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.”

  1. I'm obsessed with music scores from films. I 've purchased so many vinyl soundtracks just to have a piece of art. The profound impact that an orchestra can have on a movie scene and how it can evoke so much emotion and set the tone for what you see on screen. There's a beauty and art to it that I only realized recently as an adult and some of it really can make you emotional. Nicholas Britell, Michael Abels and Ludwig Göransson are three amazing composers that have created brilliant scores for movies such as Get Out, Us, Black Panther, Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk, Fruitvale Station, etc. Agape | If Beale Street Could Talk
  2. After the success of US (#1 in the box office, a history-making rated-R horror film) I wanted to watch the Horror Noire documentary that details the black portrayal and narrative in Horror. It's so interesting to see where we started and how we've transcended in films thanks to creators, directors, etc. who saw the need to include black people in horror, how we were depicted during the era of slavery and segregation, it also addresses and dispels certain myths. Highlights black leads like Candyman, Tales from the Hood, Get Out, etc. It was a good and informative watch for those interested and I also learned about movies I had never seen.
  3. She's doing the damn thing and gaining more confidence and experience while she's touring! I hope her debut single and album can be successful!
  4. When original content wins ! Jordan Peele is going to dominate the Horror/Psychological Thriller genre and he's revamping it, with black actors as leads (not supporting cast killed in the first 20 minutes) adding social commentary and breaking stereotypes /tropes Shout out to my new horror king!
  5. SAME! I thought it was phenomenal but I was definitely confused as hell. I had to do some YouTube searches to explain a few things and there are a lot of different theories out there. Some people are pissed about the movie but I think that Jordan Peele gave us some answers and the rest you had to work for or create your own conclusion, also his movies require repeat viewing to catch all the details he puts into it. Lupita was acting her ass off and this is her first lead role in a film and I hope she gets all the awards for it! The soundtrack/score was excellent and reworking I Got 5 On It into a scary song was brilliant. What were your thoughts on the horror/humor? Did you think it was too much or did it balance it each other out?
  6. When your fave is slaying on the Sweetener Tour Ari x Mani #PonytailHive A TALENT! A PERFORMER! A VISION OF BEAUTY AND EXCELLENCE!
  7. WHEW your taste... Always consistent! A GROUP! A DISCOGRAPHY! A LEGACY! The groups ain't sangin like this except maybe June's Diary (hopefully we'll get an album this year)
  8. Good question and this is also being discussed on social media as Elton John's new movie is coming out soon and there is a discussion that the studio cut out the sex scenes. The same thing happened with Bohemian Rhapsody in order for it to play in China. I try to watch a diverse selection of films and I really love seeing LGBTQ+ representation in films but I would like to see them be romantic, kiss, embrace, etc. No one's asking for a porno but queer folks have sex, families, fights, etc and nothing should be cut from someone's story so that sensitive people won't be offended. Also which movies are you referring to cause most of them have been praised like crazy. Call Me By Your Name, Love Simon, Moonlight, POSE, etc. I just think we need more content and that it should be led by diverse actors and actresses of that community. But since we're here and discussing LGBTQ+ films I gotta recommend y'all watch Academy Award-winning film Moonlight directed by Barry Jenkins (pics in my signature). That movie was visually stunning and told such a strong story of identity, black masculinity, family. It really is a masterpiece.
