  2. ghostin' is absolutely stunning. It's rumoured to be about Mac Miller while she was still with Pete after his death. The lyrics hit me so hard My favorite lyrics are in the post-chorus "We'll get through this, we'll get past this, I'm a girl with a whole lot of baggage, but I love you" Other beautiful lyrics: “He just comes to visit me when I’m dreaming every now and then”, "After all that we've been through, there's so much to look forward to" The instrumental is very chilling. And right when you think the song is ending, her harmonies in the last 1.5 minutes of the song just take you to heaven, it's so angelic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1pmpDRrQhU
  3. Whenever Wherever alone makes "Laundry Service" iconic. We love a worldwide smash.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bg7RjxsghNY I absolutely love Real Friends! The lyrics are so relatable and it really gives "Love Yourself" vibes. I think this would be perfect for a Fall/Winter release. No, I think I'll stay in tonight Skip the conversations and the "Oh, I'm fines" I just wanna talk about nothin' With somebody that means somethin' Spell the names of all our dreams and demons For the times that I don't understand Tell me what's the point of a moon like this When I'm alone again Can I run away to somewhere beautiful Where nobody knows my name?

  7. OMG, listen to Jumpin Jumpin at 1.25x. It SLAYSSSS https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqF9IV0WHyw
  8. Yeah which makes it more baffling. For a song so ubiquitous on digital sales and Youtube, why did radio pay it dust?
  9. It's Hot 100 performance was really strong. 18 weeks in the top 10 is pretty huge for a single in 2007, but it fell fast afterwards (likely due to lack of radio support, as it's digital sales were extremely strong). It still managed #94 on the decade chart which is pretty impressive. It is kind of baffling, like I would expect this to be at least top 40 in year end for radio, but it barely made the cut.
  10. Could be. But Sk8er Boi was a departure from Complicated as well, and still managed to do alright.
  11. Agreed, but pop hits still managed to do well (ex: The Sweet Escape - #7 year end, Say It Right - #8 year end, Glamorous - #30 year end, U+Ur Hand - #42 year end, Who Knew - #45 year end. Even Fergalicious which was probably less radio friendly than Girlfriend did better (#53 year end).
  12. Mess, how many pure sales does this have? The fact that you can't distinguish album artists from single artists anymore.
  13. Dead at "Praying" (#22 peak, #67 YE) doing better than "Chained to the Rhythm" (#4 peak, #73 YE). How did Chained to the Rhythm tank so badly? It's giving me "Hold It Against Me" teas. The fact that it was on par with "Birthday" success is tragic (#80 YE).
  14. Billboard Year-End Charts 2007US Digital Songs 2US Radio Songs 74 It peaked at #10 on radio airplay, and even Sk8er Boi was a bigger airplay hit (peaked at #10, but had more longevity) which kind of surprised me. I felt like I heard Girlfriend everywhere. Why did radio pay Girlfriend dust? It was her comeback after the Under My Skin era, and it would've done so much better on the year end charts if airplay didn't ruin it.
  15. The fact that she was 18 when she released this... Amazing song. The last minute of the song gives me chills.
